Bhubaneswar, 16/1 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty ): “The State Government is keen on the proactive use of tools of modern technology and communication gadgets in improving the quality of services provided to common people. The CCTV system has been introduced in Bhubaneswar from last year. Cuttack is also going to have a Modern Control Room with Dial 100 facility and CCTV system soon”, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Addressing the eighth raising day celebration of Police Commissionerate (Bhubaneswar-Cuttack), Chief Minister emphasised “Commissionerate Police must activate the senior citizen cells in the police stations and regularly hold interactions with senior citizens to address their issues of safety and security”.
“Policing should not be limited to crime control and maintenance of law and order alone. The ambit of policing needs to be such that a climate of safety, security and trust is enjoyed by one and all, including the women and weaker sections of society. We must create an environment in which police is better accessible to public. The citizens should approach the police station with a hope instead of fear”, he added.
The Chief Minister expressed his happiness that Commissionerate Police is proactively carrying out awareness campaigns and is introducing new schemes in the larger interest of women.
Among others, Police Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma and DCP Satyabrata Bhoi were present.
