Bhubaneswar, 04/12/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )-: An 10-year-old leopard was found dead in Nandankanan Zoological Park here on Monday.
The male leopard fell sick on Sunday following which it was shifted to an isolated enclosure for treatment. However, it was found dead at around 5 am.
According to zoo authorities, the exact reason behind the animal’s death could only be ascertained after post mortem by the experts of College of Veterinary Science.
The animal was brought to the zoo in March 2013 from Junagarh zoo in Gujarat.
With the death of the animal, the number of leopards in Nandankanan Zoo has reduced to seven (three male and four female).
