Jeypore polls gear up: Senior Cong leaders hits campaign trail

cooltext1096133385Jeypore  ( Odisha Samachar/ Cr Rahul Ganesh ) -The campaigning of the political parties has gained momentum in Jeypore municipality to catch the attention of over 70, 000  voters. A total 120 candidates are in the fray, out of which 28 candidates from BJD, 27 from Congress, 18 from BJP, four from CPI, and 53 from independents. In ward 26 BJD candidate already declared uncontested.

A team of senior Congress leaders, led by State party president Jaydev Jena, has started campaigning in Koraput district. The team comprising former chief minister Giridhar Gamang, former MP Hema Gamang, Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh and AICC secretary in-charge, Odisha, Subhonkar Sarkar Nabarangpur MP, Pradeep Majhi, With former MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, DCC president Minakshi Bahinipati, campaigning at wards with a mammoth motorcycle  rally at Koraput and Jeypor on Tuesday.  It was a remarkable show just the day before when Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, was scheduled to visit Koraput tomorrow afternoon.

Speaking at a meeting Jena said the response from people was encouraging in these places, the lack of any major development and high corruption in the Jeypore municipality in the last two terms of
BJD has made it tough to convince the voters.

Former MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati, said Congress leaders and workers are holding meetings and making public contact on regular basis. He claimed that they are receiving tremendous response from the voters,
and the Congress Party candidates with supporters are in touch with voters and are making door-to-door campaign. On the other hand, BJD campaign is being managed by Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda, and Koraput
MP, Jayaram Pangi. Political observers feel that the real contest is between the Congress and BJD this time. : Developping Odia News websites
