International Odissi Fest started with overwhelming response

cooltext1268540044Bhubaneswar , 26/12 ( Odisha Samachar Bureau)  – Organised by GKCM Odishi Research Centre under the aegis of Department of Tourism & Culture, Government of Odisha the International Odissi Dance Festival got off to a colourful start showcasing varied aspects of Odissi repertoire through the legendary, established and senior dancers of repute who enthralled the audience by their splendid performances. Evening first programme was started by Bagmishree Das from Rourkela. She was performed Mahakali Tandav set to Rag Pahadi and Tala Ektali and her second item was Kahi Gala Murali Funka set to Rag-Mishra Kafi and Tal-Jhula. Followed by Krushna Tandav by Alyssa Sahu  coming from USA. Next item was Dhara Sri Radha music by Jasobanta Padhi and Choreography by Guru Pitambara Biswal set to Rag-Kirwani and Tal-Jati performed by popular duos DSC_6948Puspanjali and Sangeeta Mohanty from New Delhi. Followed by Desh Pallavi by Satabdi Samantrai, the dance choreography was made by Smt. Kum Kum Mohanty and Music by Deepak Kumar Basu. Next item was Dasabtar by Jyoti Ranjan Das set to Rag-Kalyani and Tal-Ektali, his dance was choreographed by Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra and music by Pt. Bhubaneswar Mishra. Next item of Odissi was Srinagar a music only by flute and mardal by Ritika Mandal & Shibani Parija. Followed by Mohana Pallavi set to Rag-Mohara and Tal-Triputa by Arundhati Chakraborty. Next item was group dance by Rawa Academy they performed Namami Krushna Sundaram. Followed by Ardhanariswar set to Rag-Malika, Tal-Malika by Biswajit Das. Next was Anutap by renowned duos Baijayanti Sing & Arpita Pani followed by Bajuchhi Sahi Bajare music by G.Bijay Kumar by Anjali V Kumar from New Delhi. Next item was Siva Panchaka by the duos Baijayanti Sing & Arpita Pani followed by Krishna Madhuri by Rojalin Mohapatra, her dance was choreographed by Guru Aruna Mohanty and Music by Guru Ramhari Das and Rhythm by Guru Dhneswar Swain. Next performance was Kalabi Palavi & Asta Sambhu by renowned duos Rahul Varshynay & Isha Das from New Delhi. Followed by Barsha Paranaya by Bijayini Madhusmita. The last programme of the evening was group dance by GKCM Odissi Research Centre and Nrutya Sangeet Kala Mandira. The art lovers of the city are getting more interested who throng in a large number to this International Odissi Dance Festival organized by GKCM Odissi Research Centre.DSC_7184
