Ground breaking ceremony of LNG terminal held at Dhamra Port

Bhubaneswar, 08/07/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty ): The Ground breaking ceremony (bhumi pujan) of the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) terminal was held at Dhamra Port on Saturday afternoon.Dhamara

Gracing the occasion, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “The 5-MMTA capacity LNG terminal will be commissioned by would be commissioned by 2020-21 at an estimated cost of Rs . 6, 000 crore. The project would play a crucial role towards accelerating the process of development and employment growth in eastern India. The construction work for the terminal will begin from December this year. Besides, a 2, 539 km-long pipeline network would be laid at a cost of Rs 13, 000 crore for supply of natural gas to various households in thirteen districts of Odisha and States of Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.”

Among others, BJP leaders KV Singhdeo, Manmohan Samal and Bishnu Charan Sethi were present on the occasion.
