Govt to bear medical expenses of Nayagarh conjoined twins: Min

Bhubaneswar, 02/12/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : Health Minister Pratap Jena reviewed the health condition of the newborn conjoined twins, who were born in Nayagarh district yesterday, at Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack and assured that the government will bear the medical expenses for their treatment.

Sumitra Dutta, the wife of Kishore Kumar Dutta of Khalipatana near Sarankula in Nayagarh district, gave birth to the newborn girls at a private hospital in the district. They were later shifted to the district headquarters hospital, from where they were referred to Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack as their health condition was not good.

This is the second case in Odisha after Kandhamal’s Jaga Kalia, who were recently separated at AIIMS, New Delhi.
