Govt suspends bus services as Maoists observe PLGA week

Bhubaneswar, 02/12/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : With the Maoists observing People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week (December 2 to 8) beginning today, the government has suspended bus services on different routes in Kandhamal, Malkangiri and Rayagada districts fearing attacks.

Combing operations have been intensified and vehicles entering the Naxal-hit districts thoroughly checked. Kandhamal and some places in Malkangiri district due to fear of Maoist attack, police sources said.

The PLGA week is being observed since 2000 from the first anniversary of killing of three members of its Central Committee in Koyyuru forest area in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh on December 2, 1999.
