Bhubaneswar, 06/11/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )-: The state government on Monday announced to provide assistance to the farmers whose crops have been affected by pest attack.
At the agriculture cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at state secretariat here, it was decided that agriculture subsidy will be provided to small and marginal farmers who suffered crop loss of 33 percent and above. An assistance of Rs 13, 500 and Rs 6, 800 will be provided for irrigated and non-irrigated areas
Besides, the government has also decided to provide 75 percent subsidy to farmers for purchase of fertilizer and insecticides in pest affected areas.
Among others the meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout, Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty and other government officials.
