The festival began with Ghatasthapana at 8 am, after which all the Puja rituals were performed in a disciplined way. Puspanjali was offered by the students and teachers of the school at 9:15 am. After the rituals were performed in a systematic manner, Prasad Sevan was arranged in the school premises and cultural programmes organized by the students were among the major attractions of the auspicious occasion.
“Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the god of knowledge and education. Ganesh Chaturthi holds immense significance in children’s life in many ways. It is believed that worshiping him brings knowledge and builds character of the children”, said Niranjan Sahu, a teacher of the school.
He said that Saraswati Sisu Vidyamandir, Unit-III was established in 1977 on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi by performing the Ghatasthapana ritual. From that day onwards special emphasis is being laid on Ghatasthapana.
