Bhubaneswar , 26/8 ( Odisha Samachar ) – The global IT Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) segment has shown enormous growth and is expected to grow significantly over the decade. This growth also needs to commensurate with availability of skilled resources and as a step in this direction, Tech Mahindra’s IMS Academy is supporting Universities in the country by providing training material, faculty from the industry and simulation labs since 2011.
Tech Mahindra in association with KIIT University, Bhubaneswar has initiated the IMS Academy at the KIIT campus. The tie-up with KIIT is the first of its kind in the eastern part of the country and would help students to be fully prepared to meet industry requirements with the right level of skills and aptitude.
The IMS Academy will provide a range of training facilities in various domains of Infrastructure services to meet the growing needs of the industry. Students can receivetraining in IMS skills while pursuing their respective courses at their College / University.
Dr. Mr. Raju Wadalkar, CTO (Telecom), Mr. Duraivel A. Gopal, VP-IMS, Mr. Jothiganesh N., VP-IMS, Mr. JVS Prasad, Group Practice Head-IMS and Ms. Sita Manukumar, Practice Head-Academic Relations were present from Tech Mahindra during the Inaugural Function. KIIT University, Bhubaneswar was represented by Dr. A. Samanta, Founder (KIIT & KISS), Prof. P.P.Mathur, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, KIIT University and Dr. SasmitaSamanta, Registrar along with Deans, Directors and senior faculty members.
The academy is the 1st of its kind in Eastern India and has capacity to trainover 400 students annually.
Students from other institutions in the region apart from KIIT University can also be a part of this program if they meet the eligibility criteria. The IMS Academy is expected to bridge the growing talent supply gap in the area of IT Infrastructure Management Services (IMS).
