Export Awareness Seminar inaugurated

As the global market is a highly competitive place, the entrepreneurs of our State would get an opportunity to improve quality of their products by participating in this market Place”, emphasised MSME Minister Jogendra Kumar Behera.

Attending Export Awareness Seminar with focus on Indian Engineering sourcing Show-2014 organised by EEPC, India and MSME Department Minister said that we should concentrate on Micro & Small entrepreneurs and increase export with good quality of products. The small and medium enterprises have played a seminal role in the industrial and export performance of the State. From the Engineering, Chemical & Allied Product sector, goods worth RS.856 crore have been exported during 2013- 14 from Odisha to overseas countries. With a view to increase the export from the state, the Government has brought out the Odisha Export Policy 2014. The Policy will mainly benefit the State by increasing the export turn over from present level of 12,246 crore during the year 2012-13 to 38,714 crore in a span of 10 years at growth rate of 10% per annum, he added.

Addressing the seminar, MSME Secretary Panchanan Dash said that priority has to be given to export of MSME products, especially products which are not yet exported.

Regional Chairman EEPC, India Dr. A. K. Garodia elaborated on the aims and objectives of EEPC in augmenting our export strength in his welcome address. He also informed the audience that India Engineering Sourcing Show-2014 will be organised on a gigantic scale at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai from December 16 to 18, 2014.

Later in the Technical Session Dr Ashis Kumar Dash, ITS Regional Authority DGFT, Cuttack delineated on Government Policy for Exporters, Anima Pandey, Regional Director, EEPC India (ER) spoke on Role of EEPC India for enhancement of exports and India Engineering Sourcing Show, Arpita Sen, Branch Manager, ECGC of India Ltd. defined on Insurance & Risk Management and Mr Vikash Bhauwala, DGM & Zonal Head Odisha & Chhatisgarh, ICICI Bank described on Export Finance and Trade Services. : Developping Odia News websites
