ELogo BlueKhurda Road ,13/6 ( Odisha Samachar) – Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway organized  the Divisional Rail Users’ Consultative Committee meeting on dt. 13.06.2014. Sri H.L.Luwang, Secretary of the Committee-Cum-Sr. Divisional  Commercial Manager, Khurda Road welcomed all the members present in the meeting. Sri S.K. Singh, Divisional Railway Manager & Chairman. DRUCC, Khurda Road addressed the members representing various sections of the society and of special interests as well as the representatives of members of parliament and apprised them regarding the various developmental measures & passenger amenity works initiated by the Division for the benefit of Rail Users.DSC00637

The members of the committee put forth various suggestions, recommendations and demands before the meeting like additional stoppages of trains at more number of stations, increasing frequency of trains, introduction of new trains, Provision of additional Platform shed at more stations, Foot Over Bridge, opening of additional counters in booking offices, Better approach road, Drinking water, provision of better amenities to physically challenged persons, punctuality of trains and cleanliness of stations, provision of better quality food by Railways/IRCTC, more refreshment stalls, provision of  lifts at stations, Replacement of old coaches, etc.

DSC00640The Committee appreciated the role of the Division in heralding new projects related to passenger amenities and congratulated the Railways for taking up renovation/beautification works under passenger amenities at important stations of Khurda Road Division and suggested for improvement. Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road Sri S.K.Choudhury also participated in the discussion.
