Dharmendra Pradhan launches supply of CNG-run scooters

Bhubaneswar, 16/12/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the supply of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and CNG-run scooters in the city on Saturday.

The Minister also inaugurated eastern India’s first CNG stations in Chandrasekharpur and Patia.D 1

Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan said, “With CNG in two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws, fuel rates will be reduced by 30-40 percent. By switching to cleaner CNG, the every auto-rickshaw driver in the city will be able to save more than Rs 1, 500 per month.”

He further informed about the Centre’s plans to invest Rs 5, 000 crore in laying of natural gas pipeline and Rs 1, 700 crore for city gas distribution network in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Gas India Limited (GAIL) signed term-sheets with industrial customers for supply of natural gas and an MoU for skill development skill development of local youth in presence of the Minister.D 3
