Bhubaneswar,4/3 ( Odisha Samachar/Abhisek Mohanty) : The State level “Samadhan” sharing workshop was inaugurated at Hotel Panthanivas here on Tuesday.
Samadhan is a way for citizens in the country to play a direct and active role to achieve by demanding what the Government has already promised them. Many developmental schemes have been introduced by the Central and State Government, but there is a necessity for more efficient, accountable and transparent delivery of services. Samadhan aims to fill this gap, said Praveen Kumar Guru of VSO India.
Addressing the workshop Former Information Commissioner Prof. Radhamohan spoke on the importance of technology that helps people in different ways. He stated that Samadhan would definitely help the poor people in addressing their issues without hassle.
Samadhan is an internet-based platform primarily for the citizens to directly demand and track their entitlements. Samadhan is a joint initiative of District Administration (Koraput and Kalahandi), SOVA (Koraput), Seba Jagat (Kalahandi) and VSO India. There is a need to expedite the system so that the problems faced by downtrodden persons in rural areas and tribal areas can be sorted out, said speakers.
Among others Former Women Commissioner Lopamudra Mohanty, State Programme Officer of UNDP Ambika Kumar Nanda also spoke on the occasion. Volunteers from all the districts of Odisha participated in the two days workshop.
