OS Logo Pink EnglishBhubaneswar, 26/8/2016( Odisha Samachar )-  The painful incident of Kalahandi where husband Dan Majhi of Melaghara Village of Thuamularampur carrying the dead body of the his wife Angana Dei on his shoulder and walking down  the street for a long 16 kilometer is a matter of same for our civil society.  The dead man’s dignity and respectful ritual is a universal declaration followed in a every country.  Kalahandi which 31 years back hit the head line of the International media has again come to this picture by this painful incidence where conscience of every individual can be waked up.  Samajwadi Party Odisha State Committee today has organized a demonstration on this issue in the capital city and demanded 10 lakhs rupees compensation and house under Biju Pucca Ghara Yojana for deceased family. The Party  workers led by its States President has demanded suspension of CDMO, Kalahandi and the Sub-Collector Mr. Sukanta Tripathy who was tried to cover up the negligence of the medical staffs involved in this apathetic incident. The party has questions the pro people welfare scheme which don’t reach the target population due to the casual and careless approach the Govt. officials who are paid from the tax payers’ money. The party has urged the Chief Minister to take stringent action in the matter for which such incident are not repeated in future and the poor people gets the benefits of welfare schemes. This incident has not only created furor in Odisha, it has also stirred the conscience of the political parties, Civil Societies and individuals across the nation and has brought shame for the state. Among others who participated in the demonstration were Mr. Sudarshan Pradhan, Women leader Nirupama Das, Sabitri Behera & Binapani Das and Youth leader Mr. Pradeep Mishra, Arun Jena, Deepdas Yadav & Bijay Behera.
