Cuttack Administration gears up to tackle jaundice situation

Cuttack/Bhubaneswar, 24/02/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / OS-Logo-Pink-English-300x179Abhisek Mohanty )- : MLA Debashish Samantaray and Cuttack Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra reviewed the steps being taken to prevent spread of Jaundice in Cuttack.

After visiting Ward number 8 and 9 of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), the Collector said, “The officials of PHD have been directed to change all the broken drinking water pipelines in the Jaundice affected areas as water pollution is the primary cause of jaundice.
The District Administration has formed 20 teams to visit various places in the city and check the condition of water supply pipelines. Looking at the situation, temporary clinics and health camps have been set up in the jaundice-hit areas. Besides, a special ward have been
opened at SCB Medical College & Hospital for treatment of jaundice patients.”

At present the number of persons afflicted with jaundice rose to 76 in Ward number 8, 9 and 10 of CMC.
