Bhubaneswar, 01/01/2018 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhishek Mohanty )- : City dwellers in large number visited temples and other picnic spots on Monday to celebrate New Year day in their own ways.
People were seen flocking to Lingaraj, Chintamaniswar, Bhaskareswar, Megheswar and other temples in the city to pay obeisance to the deities.
Huge crowds were also witnessed at Nandankanan Zoological Park and Botanical Garden, which remained open, despite being a Monday.
Adequate police personnel were deployed at various crowded places and important junctions to keep an eye on the anti socials.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited Puri Jagannath Temple to offer prayers to the trinity. Patnaik also expressed his best wishes to the people of Odisha.
