Bhubaneswar, 6/9 ( Odisha Samachar )- – The Junior Red Cross wing of the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch has celebrated the ‘Teachers Day’ at Red Cross Bhavan, Bhubaneswar. Teachers-cum-Junior Red Cross Counsellors from different schools of the state have participated in the programme.
Dr. Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch & Secretary, Junior Red Cross inaugurated the programme and extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and the partcipants. In his address he said that teachers are playing vital role in building the future generation of the society and education is more important than qualification. So counsellors & teachers should play a vital role to build the juniors of present generation as responsible persons of our society.
Sri Ramakanta Mohapatra joined as Chief Guest and addressed the life skill of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. He also added for selfless service and dedication of the JRC Counsellors & Teachers to the society through humanitarian principles of Red Cross.
Besides, counsellors shared their experiences and thanked all the teachers for disseminating the seven fundamental principles of the Red Cross and its humanitarian service amongst young students & juniors in schools.
The teachers were felicitated in the meeting for their humanitarian services through Junior Red Cross in the Schools & the celebration ended with a formal vote of thanks offered by Sri Govinda Chandra Mahunta, Honorary Joint Secretary, IRCS-OSB. Sri Nihar Ranjan Mishra has coordinated the programme.
On this occasion at 10 a.m. a Blood Donation camp was organised in collaboration with Smart Value Product & Services Limited in which 33 units of blood were collected.
