Cuttack, 20/02/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- Basing on the report of the Complt. Sri Balakrishna Panda, Berhampur Vigilance P.S.Case No.57 dt.20.11.2015 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 P.C.Act, 1988 was registered against Sri Suresh Chandra Mohanty, Branch Manager, Aska Co-operative Central Bank Ltd., Pattapur Branch, Dist.Ganjam for demand of illegal gratification of Rs.2,500/- from him to issue one cheque amounting to Rs.65,000/- for purchasing one threshing machine. On completion of investigation, the case was charge sheeted against Sri Mohanty to face the trial in the court of law.
On 18.02.2017, the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur convicted Sri Mohanty and sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 06 months and to pay fine of Rs.1,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for 03 months for the offence U/s 7 P.C.Act, 1988. He was further sentenced to undergo R.I for 01 year, pay fine of Rs.1,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 03 months for the offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) P.C.Act, 1988. Substantive sentences are to run concurrently.
