Bhubaneswar, 23/12/2017 ( Odisha Samachar )- The six months vocational development programme on ‘Basic Electrician Training’ conducted at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) was concluded on 22nd December. The programme was sponsored by the GKL Foundation, South Korea and was supported by Hanseo University, South Korea. As many as forty students of KISS Deemed to be University inducted in this programme for six months training. The programme has been a tremendous success with great theoretical and practical learning of the students. The training programme promoted self-reliance among the students in the area of handling basic electricity-related tasks and created interest and curiosity to explore this area further in their higher education. Mr. Surendra Pradhan, Chief Program Manager, Rural Electrification Corporation Limited, Odisha graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest and gave away the certificates to students along with Professor Kim Seung-Jae of Hanseo University, South Korea. Senior officials of KISS also encouraged the students to build on their knowledge and experience. Speaking on the programme, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT and KISS said, KISS is focused on promoting self-reliance, entrepreneurship and employability quality among the tribal youth in addition to promoting their knowledge and scientific curiosity.
