Cuttack/Bhubaneswar, 26/10/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : The junior medicos of SCB Medical College and Hospital here launched an indefinite cease work on Thursday in protest against the alleged attack on a doctor by a patient’s kin doctors on Tuesday.
The Post Graduate Doctor’s Association staged a dharana wearing black badges seeking adequate security for doctors on duty in the hospital.
The agitating doctors demanded removal of SCB Medical College and Hospital Superintendent Dr Shyama Kanungo, strengthening and proper reviewing of the security system, and announcement of stipend.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Pratap Jena also warned the agitating doctors of action in case the patientcare gets affected at the hospital following the strike.
On Tuesday, the family members of a patient from Mahanga area of Cuttack district attacked an on duty doctor Aman Behera following his death.
Three persons were arrested by Mangalabag police the same day for assaulting the doctors.
