Bhubaneswar, 30/06/2017 ( Odisha Samachar /Abhisek Mohanty )- : The members of Anasangathitha Sramik Manch, Odisha (ASM) met Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board chairman Subash Singh on Thursday and submitted a memorandum seeking
better social security measures for the unorganised workers.
The ten-point charter of demands includes minimum monthly wage Rs 600, ESI facilities and identity cards to unorganised workers.
Through the memorandum, the ASM members also demanded 50 per cent reservation for unorganised workers’ children in private schools.
The delegation comprised of ASM general secretary Prakash Samal, members Satya Ranjan Sahu and Gobind Nayak .
After receiving the memorandum, Singh assured the delegation that appropriate steps will be taken to resolve their issues.
