ASHA workers stage protest in city seeking minimum wage

Bhubaneswar, 08/06/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : The Accredited Social Health Activists Breaking News 3(ASHA) workers on Thursday staged a protest outside the National Health Mission (NHM) office at Nayapalli here on Thursday seeking immediate fulfillment of their demands including minimum monthly wage.

The demands of the ASHA workers include minimum monthly wage of Rs 15,000, provision of provident fund, establishment of ASHA Karmi houses in government-run hospitals, pension, insurance facilities and health facilities”, said Odisha ASHA Karmee Association president Radha Raman Sarangi.

Later, the association members submitted a memorandum to NHM additional director and ASHA coordinator.
