Bhubaneswar,14/4 (Odisha Samachar/Abhisek Mohanty) : Industry major Tata Steel has come forward to join hands with acclaimed artists of Odisha to explore the potential among promising and hidden talents of the state. To encourage the artists, the company has collaborated with ‘TOGETHER’ a forum for creative artists, to hold a three day long art exhibition cum camp at Jayadev Bhawan on Monday here.
The exhibition cum camp, featuring 36 senior and upcoming artists was inaugurated by Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Energy, Information & Public Relations Mr. Pradeep Kumar Jena in the presence of Vice President, Operations, Kalinganagar Project, Tata Steel Mr. Arun Misra.
Eight budding artists, chosen through many rounds of screening from a competition organized earlier by Tata Steel among the high school students of the state through eight zones, are also displaying their creations. They would get an opportunity to hone their skills under the tutelage of the senior artists during the three day camp.
Lauding the combined efforts of the forum and Tata Steel, Mr. Jena expected that such initiative will go a long way in promoting art in the state while encouraging promising talents in the field. Deliberating upon the contributions of Tata Steel in nourishing art and culture, he said that this event, organized for the third time here, provided a congenial platform for exchange of ideas for the veteran artists while at the same time nurturing the upcoming talents of Odisha.
Speaking on the occasion, three eminent artists Mr. Siba Panigrahi, Mr. B.N. Rao and Mr. Baladev Maharatha will be felicitated on the concluding day. Besides, scholarship will also be awarded to three promising young artists for pursuing their talents.
