Talcher,27/1 ( Odisha Samachar / Priyamadhab Das) –The 67th Republic Day was celebrated at NTPC Talcher Kaniha on 26 th January, 2016 .Chief Guest of the event, Shri NK Kothari, Executive Director hoisted the national flag at Stage II stadium of Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, Kaniha. On this occasion, school children along with CISF Security & Fire Wing participate in the parade.
Shri Kothari on this auspicious day made a call to remember the contributions of freedom fighters. He stated that on this very day, the constitution of India was framed by Dr B R Ambedkar with aim to provide equality in religion and rights for citizens of India.
Speaking on NTPC he stated that “Power is a major contributor in the economical development of the nation, with power generation, NTPC is playing important role in the development of the country. NTPC Limited, India’s largest power generating company has an installed capacity of 45548MW.”
Speaking on Talcher Kaniha he said “the station has been ranked 2nd position among all NTPC stations with a PLF of 90.18% by generating 23699 Million Units till date. The station ranked 6th rank among the top power stations in the country.
Shri Kothari stated “adding one feather to the cap, NTPC Kaniha won Swarn Shakti award for Best productivity (Coal Performance) & Best Hospital Service (runners up) for the year 2014-15.He shared various CSR activities conducted by the power station.
On this occasion, 65 employees of the station were awarded with meritorious award. St.Mary’s School (Boys) got the first prize in the best parade performance & bagged also the first prize in the cultural event.
On this occasion Shri Anand Khalatkar ,GM(O&M),Shri P K Mahapatra ,GM(Maintenance) ,Shri S Ghosh ,GM(Operations) ,Shri P M Jena (EMD) ,Shri Anil Jana ,GM(Fuel Maintenance) , Smt .Sunittee Khalatkar,Vice President ,Tanvi Sangam, members of unions & associations were present on this occasion.
