5 Days Inter-State Youth Red Cross Study-cum-Training Camp inaugurated

Bhubaneswar, 27/01/2017 ( Odisha Samachar )-  – The 5 Days Inter-State Youth Red Cross Study-cum-Training camp is being organised by the Youth Red Cross Unit of the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch at N.M. Institute of Engineering & Technology, Sijua, Patrapada from 27.01.17 to 31.01.17. More than 470 YRC Volunteers and Counsellors from 6 states including 30 districts of Odisha were participating in the said Camp.

During these 5 days Camp volunteers will be trained on topics such as History of Red Cross Movement, Fundamental Principles, First Aid, HIV/AIDS, Health & Hygiene, Voluntary Blood Donation, Road Safety and Leadership & Yoga. Various competitions will also be organized during the camp to harness the literary potentiality of the Youth Red Cross volunteers.

Collector-cum-Chairman, District Red Cross Branch, Khordha Sri Niranjan Sahu, IAS., inaugurated the 5 days camp as Chief Guest. Addressing to the campers, he said that Youth Red Cross volunteers should be the responsible citizen of the country being committed to root out the social evils.

Director, Higher Education, Odisha Prof. Dr. Nihar Ranjan Pattnaik joined as Chief Speaker and appreciated the role of Youth Red Cross counsellors and volunteers in strengthening Red Cross movement in the country.

Sri Ramesha Chandra Parida, Chairman, NM Institute of Engineering & Technology joined as Guest of Honour and said Youth Red Cross volunteers should provide selfless and dedicated service to the vulnerable people in the society by mobilizing power of humanity.

Honorary Secretary, IRCS-OSB & Secretary, Youth Red Cross, Dr. Gyanabrata Mohanty extended a warm welcome and said the volunteers, the lessons learnt in the camp  should be disseminated their day to day life.

Dr. Maj. Kalpana Das, Youth Red Cross Officer coordinated the programme and offered vote thanks at the end of the programme function.
