Bhubaneswar,19/03 ( Odisha Samachar/Abhisek Mohanty) : The 2nd National Language Conference (NLC) will be held from March 30 to April 2, 2015 by Institute of Odia Studies and Research (IOSR), Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Culture and Tourism Department of Government of Odisha at Institute of Physics Auditorium in the State capital.
“It has been one year since we got the classical status for the Odia Language and this National Language Conference has lot of significance in this direction. One of the objectives of NLC is to establish Odia at the national level”, said Member Secretary of IOSR Dr. Subrat Kumar Prusty while speaking at the preparatory meeting held at Panthaniwas to make this National Language Conference a success.
Around 500 delegates including linguists, professors, vice-chancellors and researchers from universities and institutes of the country are expected to participate in the conference.
Among others, MP Baisnav Charan Parida, Former MP Rama Chandra Khuntia, MLA Sipra Mallick, Committee Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Omkarnath Mohanty and Organising Secretary Sudarsan Das also spoke on the occasion.
