The festival is being organized by K.N. Memorial Foundation, Bhubaneswar in association with the Department of Tourism, Culture and Panchayati Raj, Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Song & Drama Division Kolkata, Indian Council of Cultural Relations (Cuttack) and Travel, Hotel & Restaurants Association of Odisha.
Addressing a Press Meet, Festival Committee Chairman Dillip Kumar Nanda told media persons that the festival aims to promote the tourism and culture potentials of Odisha. The mega festival is scheduled to be inaugurated on February 6 at 6:30pm. Eminent personalities & researchers will grace the audience in every evening.
Like previous years, sand art with varied themes and food court having different Odia cuisines will be the other attractions for the visitors to behold and taste the palatable preparations. Merry Go-Round and other entertainment activities will be organized for the children and youngsters to be glued to the festival site. Each evening eminent artistes and cultural troupes of national and international repute from Odisha and across the country will perform classical and folk dances, he stated.
Apart from all the classical dance forms like Odissi, Bhartanatyam, Kuchipudi and Kathak, folk dance groups from 14 States including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand are expected to participate in the festival. Various folk dancers of Odisha shall perform their best at the Kharavela Mandap and nearly 600 artists will perform during this festival.
Elaborate arrangements have also been made with the active support and collaboration of OSRTC, I & PR, OTDC, Directorate of Tourism & Culture, BMC, BDA, CESU, District Administration, Khurda and Commissionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar for smooth conduct of the festival.
